Eating Healthly - No Weight Loss!

I cannot believe I have to report this but after all my eating healthly for a few weeks now there has been no further weightloss. I really can't even believe this. maybe I haven't always been that hot on the excercise side of things but I have been eating so much more healthly than my normal diet! I actually was feeling better in myself as well and even managed to get a pair of old boots on that I hadn't been able to do up until recently due to my fat legs but clearly things arn't going as well as I thought, damnit. I had avoided weighing until recently as I had thought that if I weighed too soon and hadn't lost anything then it would put a downer on things for me - well this is exactly what has happened :-(

  1. Don't worry about it. Just keep at it. Remember that after a while you stop losing weight or it just comes off a lot slower. Try changing your exercise routine to something different and check if it works out. Don't get down you can do it, come on!

  2. Thanks Maggie :-) I was a bit down yesterday but I had a think about it and decided I must be getting healthier if nothing else just because the food I am eating now is so much better for me than what I was having before - more often than not I would eat biscuits for breakfast for crying out loud! Now I shudder at my old ways and I do feel healthier in myself which is always a bonus.

  3. According to the US Center for Disease Control (CDC), regular exercise is the only way to achieve sustained weight loss. Visit their website at http://www.cdc.gov/HealthyLiving/ for more information. Diet DOES play a key role in weight loss and healthy living- explaining why you feel better- but it generally won't lead to weight loss on its own. Still, I would like to applaud your efforts. Too many people are 'trying' to lose weight through the pretend-it-isn't-happening method, and they're no better for it. Obesity- not to imply that you're obese, you might well just be trying to shed a few pounds- is a serious health problem, every bit as serious as smoking or alcoholism, and the sooner it's sorted, the better. You're on the right path, keep on it.

Also, consider speaking with your physician about it if you haven't already. Ask him or her if they've got any recommendations for you on how to achieve weight loss, set a target weight, and agree on the right way to get there. Private physicians are a wonderful resource for getting to a happier, healthier lifestyle, it's a shame most people only think to use them when they've got a sinus infection.

Good luck, and if you're interested in getting a few more tips on using the US medical system, you can check out my blog at http://911guide.blogspot.com/

  5. Hey Guys, thanks for the comments :-)

You are right Safety, I think excercise is going to be the key, the trouble is I find it so hard to get motivated (no excuse I know!) and am actually finding it easier to eat less than do anything arobic.

Hey Bee! Great to know others are on the weight loss path with me :-) looks like you are doing far better than me on the excercise though, good on ya!

  6. Nutrition is a fundamental thing when it comes to taking off the pounds. Training as well.

Try circuit training to help shed some pounds and extra calories!
